Notices waves of joining accounts and slows them down.
A raid is a wave of accounts joining at once to spam or harass. Defendr watches how many members join in a short window and what they have in common: brand new accounts, no profile picture, very similar names, a rejoin, or a reviewed listing in the Defendr network. When enough of them look alike, Defendr raises a raid.
Thirty accounts created yesterday join within ten seconds, all named like "user_8831".
Raid mode pauses new invites and, if you want, direct messages between members, raises the verification level and can start a lockdown. One live card shows the join rate, the accounts of the wave and what Defendr changed, and gives you the buttons to ban the wave, extend it or end it. Everything Defendr changed is set back when raid mode ends, unless someone changed it in the meantime.
Raid mode runs for 60 minutes and ends by itself once the joins stop.
The accounts that joined during the wave are kept together as one list. Banning them asks you to type the number first, so a mis-click can never ban a thousand members, and you choose how much of their recent history is deleted. The ban runs in blocks of 200 accounts and reports which of them Discord refused.
You ban 420 accounts and Defendr reports 418 banned, 2 failed.
