What happens

Join gate

The join gate checks every new member against three simple rules: how old the account is, whether it has a profile picture, and whether its name matches one of your patterns. A member who fails a rule gets the action you chose — usually a quarantine role, so a human can look before the member can post.

Example

An account created two days ago joins while the minimum age is seven days.

The quarantine role

The quarantine role is a role with no permissions that cannot see your channels. Defendr adds it to a member the join gate stops and remembers it, so the role comes back if the member leaves and returns within 30 days. Defendr's own role has to sit above the quarantine role, otherwise Discord refuses to assign it and Defendr falls back to a timeout.

Example

You drag the Defendr role above the Quarantine role and the Security Score issue disappears.

What your team sees in Discord

Every action posts a card like this in your log channel.
